Internet Repeater Linking

Currently I have one repeater linked to the Internet using the EchoLink software from K1RFD at www.echolink.org . It is a VHF repeater on 187.870 MHz, negative offset, 100.00 tone. This machine is located near Woodward, OK. It puts out about 50 watts and covers about an 70 mile radius. It is linked to the Internet 24/7 through a wireless broadband connection and a link radio which is located at my house in Mooreland, OK.

The link can be controlled via DTMF codes and are as follows: 01 to link to a random node, 001 to connect to another EchoLinked station in Oklahoma and # to disconnect from a link. If you know the number of the node you wish to link to you may enter it in directly. Don’t know the node number? Don’t worry. Here is a web site that has a page listing all nodes on the EchoLink system. It is updated every 5 minutes. http://home.insightbb.com/~n9yty/

Would you like to find out more about the EchoLink software? Check out K1RFD’s web site at http://www.echolink.org/ .
