Here is a picture of my 40m direct-conversion receiver. It is a clone of Ten-Tec's T-Kit receiver. It sports built-in battery power (8 alkaline AA or 10 NiCd AA) and a built-in speaker. Just add a piece of wire for an antenna, and you have a neat little receiver for the night stand or patio! It isn't terribly stable, but it works, and it was cheap to build.
