The U.S. Congress, through the Communications Act, created the Amateur Radio Service with the expectation that hams: PROVIDE COMMUNITY, PUBLIC & EMERGENCY SERVICE, CREATE A POOL OF TRAINED COMMUNICATORS & ELECTRONICS EXPERTS, DEVELOP INTERNATIONAL GOODWILL, FURTHER THE ART OF COMMUNICATIONS In fullfillment of our obligations, the Wellington Radio Club: • volunteers at Wellington's Emergency Operations Center,
• maintains the communications equipment at the EOC, • deploys its members to disaster struck regions, • offers a FREE Beginner's Amateur Radio Course, • provides communications for other non-profit groups, • serves at community and non-profit organization events, • owns & maintains two repeaters for public service during emergencies, • conducts the weekly Wellington Emergency Net to train its members, • holds monthly meetings & workshops to advance members' technical skills, and • provides mutual aid to local emergency organizations at their events or facilities. |

The Wellington Radio Club helps relieve the trauma of lost children and their
parents at large community events... helping to keep the lost child from becoming a missing persons statistic. DOZENS of lost kids & parents have been reunited quickly
as a result of our service. Contact us about providing this service at your non-profit event! |
CHILD ID KITS at Schools, Churches and at Public Events We work with the Village of Wellington, the Sheriffs Office and non-profit groups to provide free ID Kits. WRC volunteers may take childrens' fingerprints &/or fotos or provide the entire kit depending on the event. |

HURRICANE CHARLEY lMUTUAL AID MISSION: WRC members (l-r) Larry KS4NB, John KG4JMO and Lindy KG4PQG joined Tampa Amateur Radio Club members at ground zero, Punta Gorda. For 6 critical days they provided emergency communications for the Salvation Army's mass food distribution program serving 2+MILLION meals from 8/13-9/29/04. |
