Thanks for visiting. Like our Club's membership, this website is open to all. The Club's name simply reflects its birthplace but its members have come from as far away as Coral Springs and Jupiter.
Oldtimers and "newbies" alike are attracted by its high activity level, and its dual focus on emergency communications and traditional ham activities. Our Public Safety, CERT, ARES and RACES members have had a unique, positive impact on all club members.
For example, the WRC leads the effort to promote and train amateurs in the reliable transmission of complex documents such as FEMA and Red Cross forms and spreadsheets. All done with only a computer, simple & free software and a transceiver. No special equipment or cables are needed!
It's called PBC Basic Narrowband Emergency Messaging System and is geared to the 99% of hams that have no digital interfaces and only very modest technical backgrounds. Even new hams with an interest in Emergency Communications can use the methodolgy with a minimum of training! It's no wonder that it is endorsed by many groups!
