Repeater System

The Union County Amateur Radio Club owns, operates, and maintains
three Amateur Radio Repeaters in Union County, S.C.
The main repeater operates on a frequency of 145.150 Mhz.. This Repeater
System has a wide area of coverage that includes much of the upstate of South
Carolina as well as portions of North Carolina. Coverage includes Union,
Chester, York, Fairfield, Lexington, Newberry, Laurens, and Spartanburg County
as well as portions of Greenville and Cherokee Counties. This machine uses a
Motorola Micor base station/repeater with a CAT 300 Controller and a Decibel
Products DB 224 folded dipole Omni directional Antenna at 440 feet. We hold a
weekly net on Wednesday nights at 9:00pm.
We have another two meter machine which operates on a frequency
of 146.685 MHz. This repeater is a local area repeater . It uses a Motorola Micor
mobile unit converted to repeater service, a CAT 300 controller, and a Decibel
Products DB224 folded dipole omni directional antenna at 150 feet.
The 442.100 machine consists of a Motorola Micor Mobile radio
converted to repeater service with a
CAT 200 controller and a Decibel Products DB 224 folded dipole omni directional
antenna at 160 feet.
All repeaters were built and installed by
the Club's technical committee ( primarily Ron Crisp WB4VZN ) and coordinated by the SERA (Southeastern
Repeater Association) in which we are a full member.
Repeater System
