ExamsThe BCARS VE team administers exams at each general meeting. Exams are open to all persons testing at any level. We do request that you contact us at least 1 (one) day in advance so we may ensure that we are properly staffed, especially if you are taking an Extra Class exam. Other exam opportunities can be scheduled for large groups (like BSAR - the Brunswick Search And Rescue team) or persons that are visiting our area for only a short time. Prior arrangements must be made so we can fulfill our legal obligation to notify the general public of all testing sessions. The VE team is happy to accommodate anyone needing special assistance, due to physical disability, under Part 97.509(k) but we would like prior notice to properly prepare ourselves.
The BCARS VE team operates under the authority of the FCC Part 97.509 and is accredited by the W4VEC Volunteer Exam Coordinator. We welcome any ham with a General, Advanced or Extra class license to become a VE and join us in bringing new hams into our hobby. Visiting VEs are always welcome and will check-in with the VE liaison upon arrival. |
