The hams of BCARS Club provide our county with
amateur repeaters, emergency communications and technical training
and assistance.
We have 3 VHF and 1 UHF repeater.
During an emergency (like a hurricane) our ARES
team mans 3 main shelters, 2 backup shelters, 2 hospitals and the
County Emergency Operations Center. Members of the BCARS Club are
the only club authorized by Brunswick County Emergency Management
to provide these valuable services.
We help train and test new entrants into both
the hobby and public service sides of amateur radio.
