WN4YEJ Tucker, GA, August 8, 1965 - during my first QSO
My first Amateur Radio Station, an All Heathkit rig: GR64 with Q-mult and a DX60A built from kits and paid for with funds I earned fixing AC-DC clock radios at Slaughter TV in Tucker. Note custom knife switch used for T/R swithing. Worked over 42 states on 40 CW using a Mosely V-4-6 vertical on the roof with no radials. Got an SWR bridge later and it was half way into the red!

Now, age 16 and an "experienced" DXer. I was tearing 20, 15, and 10 meters up on a regular basis using an HT37 and NC270 with a TA33 on the roof of my Dad's house. Notice the Knightkit T-150 on the top shelf. What a piece of junk! I actually used it as net control for the Georgia State Teenage Net for a while though before I got the Hallicrafters.

WA4YEJ/5 and WB5AMO Longview, TX, 1968
This was during my CW bigot phase when I swore off microphones for a while. The transmitter is homebrewed from the Handbook with a pair of 1625s and a modified ARC-5 transmitter for a VFO. I loved the 75A2! I will pay premium $$$ for another one now. Know where one is?
