PIC Stuff

I have just strated programming in CCS C and Microchip assembler for the PIC 16F84 (and soon the 16F877 + ICD) MPU's.  I lucked onto the PICList, as well as Professor Phil Anderson's page as sources of information.   Below is the PIC Programmer plus breadboard Professor Anderson sells which not only has the circutry to program the PIC, but also a breadboard area for prototyping and a very capeable logic probe and a 1 or 10 pps strobe!  Quite a buy for $49.  Full details on his site.

As set up below, I am experimenting with lighting LEDs, beeping a Piezo squeaker with various sound effects, detecting switch inputs, etc., I.E. all the usual beginner stuff.  I can do it both in assembler and C, so I am probably progressing!

When I get any programs that are worth anything, I will list them on my Free Stuff pages.  I am working on a GPS interface that tells me where the speed limit changes here in the Fla. Keys.  It may sound useless, but that means you haven't ever driven down Route 1, our only highway, with it's many speed changes from a low of 30 to a high of 55.  Of course, if it is after sundown, we better factor in the Key Deer.
