To use, download the FCC data available here, select the License Records entry, which will download the l_amat.zip file. Unzip this file into the same folder as the lookup program.
Optionally you can download the Canadian files from here. This will download a file called cdncaldb.zip. Unzip this file into the same folder as the lookup program.When you first run the program, you will be told two files don't exist, and instructed to run the update function. Select the Update Data tab, and enter your latitude and longitude (in North America longitude is entered as a negative number). Now click the Update Data button. When the update has run, you should get a screen that looks like the following (Please exit the program and rerun before looking up any calls):
If all looks OK, exit the program and run it again. You shouldn't get any error messages, and should see the Lookup Call screen. If you type in w1hq as the call, and you should see a screen that looks like this:
The files downloaded and unzipped from the FCC site can be deleted.
