Current Project

ATV Weather Repeater
This is a current ATV project I am working on. The pupose of the system will be to transmit local weather conditions super-imposed with video from tower mounted camera. The system is brought up with the presence of a tone encoded 2 meter FM signal. The output is from an horizontally polarized antenna array using a frequency of 421.25, allowing anyone with a cable ready televison, tuned to cable channel 57, and an outside antenna to monitor the system. The 2 meter audio is mixed with the atv signal so that any licensed ham can use the system. This also has the advantage in allowing users that noramlly can not talk to each other simplex, because of distance, to now comunnicate with each other. The user has the choice of disabling weather information, panning or tilting the camera, and at times of severe weather activating warning messages. I have hopes in the future of adding a voice to the system to vocalize the current weather conditions and repeater operation to aid sight impaired users and listeners. Currently the system is still in the designing stage with hopes of having it up and running by late the summer.
