The club sponsored a Special Events Station, using the call K4AVX, at the Black Gold Festival. The station was set up at the Hazard FireDepartment. Many contacts were made on 75/80, 40, 20, and 2 meters. A special certificate was sent to stations contacted,and information was given to visitors to the station.
