HISTORY

My Novice License was issued December 16, 1957, callsign KN3CNH.

I operated 80, 40 and 15 meter CW with a Heathkit AT-1 and later with a DX20 transmitter. a Hallicrafters S-40B receiver and a half-wave coaxial fed dipole antenna.

December 1958 my Technician License was issured with my call sign K3CNH. I purchased a used Heathkit DX35 and converted it to six meters. I used a Hallicrafters SX-110 with a Tecraft 50 mhz converter. My antenna was a 50 Mhz homebrew 6 element widespace beam on an old TV tower up 50 feet.

1960 I upgraded to General class, built a Heathkit "Apache" TX-1 transmitter. Made a 10 & 15 meter homebrew quad to go along with my existing dipole antenna. I kept my Hallicrafters SX-110 with the converter and Heathkit DX35 and stayed active on 6 meters as well.

When I started tech school in Philadelphia 1961, I built a Heathkit "Sixer" and had a Halo mounted on my 1957 Plymouth. I was very active on 6 meters from the mobile in the Philadelphia area from 1961 thru 1963.

In 1967 I added a Heathkit S300, SB400, and SB600. My antennas were upgraded to a Mosley TA-36, New homebrew 6 element widespace 50 Mhz beam, and 144 Mhz Finco stacked beams on a 40 foot telephone pole. Also got active on RTTY with Models 14, 15, and 19 Teletype Machines.

In 1979 Carol, WN3RGP and I got married and we moved in our new home. This was my Station setup and antenna system.

This is my current station setup 2010
