Dave's Computerized Home Control

Four years ago I installed a main computer which runs most of the homes lights, fans, electrical devices, answering machine, and speaks out the caller ID when some one calls. This is a voice activated system and just by speaking into a microphone it will turn on electrical devices and lights off and on. It also has set timers to turn on the pond pump at sun up and off at dusk. Or turn on or off fans in the out buildings or RV when needed.

It speaks out any command to speakers in the bedroom, kitchen, laundry room, and sheds. My alarm in the morning turns on the bedroom speaker and says "It's time to get up David".  It tells us the latest weather    report at 6:30 AM. In some rooms it turns on the lights when you enter the room, only if it's dark outside.

It speaks when I arrive or leave home in the car. Also when the clothes dryer has finished drying the clothes. It turns on and off the air purifiers at night when we go to bed. When I open the top drawer of my dressor every night it triggers a motion detector in the drawer and says "I see you are getting into bed, I will set the house to sleep mode".  In which the bedroom light, computer room light, living room light, radio scanner go off for the night. At 6 AM he turns on the radio scanner.

We have named the computer, "HAL"

Just asked Hal what time it is, or a weather report and he will tell you.

I have installed motion detectors in the sheds and laundry room and Hal will tell you if some one has entered the room.
