Rensselaer County ARES/RACES is an organization of Amateur Radio operators dedicated to supplying alternative or backup communications in time of need for the citizens of Rensselaer County New York. Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of every month at the county Emergency Services Center (aka the new county jail) on 4000 Main Street, Troy, NY at 7:30 PM. Follow this link to a map and directions. See the links on the bottom of the page for other good stuff. A weekly training net is held on Wednesday nights that are not meeting nights. As of February 2, 2002, the net will be held on 147.18 Mhz. (+600). Many thanks to the Troy Amateur Radio Association for the use of their repeater system while work was being done on the 147.18 repeater. |
