IS-22 Are You Ready? An In-depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness

Course Overview

The "Are You Ready? An In-Depth Guide to Citizen Preparedness" has been designed to help the citizens of this nation learn how to protect themselves and their families against all types of hazards. It can be used as a reference source or as a step-by-step manual. The focus of the content is on how to develop, practice, and maintain emergency plans that reflect what must be done before, during, and after a disaster to protect people and their property. Also included is information on how to assemble a disaster supplies kit that contains the food, water, and other supplies in sufficient quantity for individuals and their families to survive.

Here we are at the National Night Out in Livingston on August 3

…QTH here is Antarctica… Ever worked the South Pole? Andy, WA2DKJ, has made many QSO’s from the bottom of the world. Andy is a field engineer who has made several visits there as part of his work maintaining the Automated Geophysical Observatory, which measures how solar events affect earth’s properties such as its magnetic field. Andy, a member and past president of the New Providence ARC, will be giving an illustrated talk on his work and ham operations from Antarctica on Wednesday, September 15 at 8 PM at the Roseland Public Library, located at 20 Roseland Ave., in Roseland. Andy’s talk is sponsored by the Roseland ARC and you are invited to join us to meet Andy, enjoy his presentation, and share this evening with fellow hams. Refreshments will be served and a map will be posted below. Questions can be directed to the Roseland club via e-mail to k2gq@hotmail.com. We hope to see you on September 15!

Our Fall schedule is coming up.  On Sunday, October 17, we will support the Heart Walk in Roseland.  Sunday, October 24 we are at the Sandy Hook Lighthouse for Fort Hancock Establishment Day .

ALERT -- The Essex County EmComm Training Net takes place on the first Tuesday of each month at 9 PM on the WA2JSB 2 meter repeater.
