Since August 2002 the western NY region has been cooking from it's own millimeter-wave emmissions. There are currently 8 active stations on 24GHz with 5 more in the construction phases. On 47GHz there are 4 active and another 2 building. VUCC is a natural result of all this activity. There have been 4 24GHz VUCCs achieved since the weather broke on the winter of 2003, K2DH (#17), K2EHF(#18), W02P (#19), & KB8VAO (#??). Not to mention others with 2, 3 or 4 grids. There's lots of cool stuff going on in and around the Rochester VHF Group.

Activity:

8/20/02 - First QSOs between KB2VGH (now-K2EHF) and K2DH at distances from 1/2mi to 1mi.
10/??/02 - K2DH, K2EHF, K2LDU extend personal DX and experiment with propagation.
1/19/03 - W2FU work K2LDU aross Lake ontario with LOUD signals during Jan VHF contest.
3/15/03 - 24GHz Activity day. K2EHF and K2DH complete VUCC.
3/??/03 - WO2P completes VUCC.
4/??/03 - N2EZS, WB2BYP become active on 24GHz. K2LDU & K2LDT play on 47GHz! (Successful??)
6/14/03 - KB8VAO completes 24Ghz VUCC. First Activity from W2DYY.
6/19/03 - N2EZS & K2DH make initial 47GHz QSOs at 14.xxkm with only 200uW! (First SSB QSOs in WNY?)

3/15/03 - K2EHF & K2LDU/VE3 extend W->VE 24GHz distance record to 134.153km (83.359mi)
