The Antennas...(updated 3/5/2003)

HF and 6m antennas up in the blue sky!

Installing some of the new antennage. Yeah, that's a KLM 16LBX at the tippy-top. It's a balmy 35F outside, too. Winter is so fun.

Some of the local crazies helping with the antenna work: (L to R) K2AN, N2EZS, N2KXS, K2DH, K2OS
The microwave shed is right at the base of the tower, which is 60' from the shack itself. 903 - 5GHz reside there, with 10GHz being in a box on the tower itself. This helps keep the feedlines short, to around 70' each. With 1 5/8" feeds on 1296, 2304 and 7/8" on 3-5GHz, one of the tower faces is pretty packed. In addition, 3 1" diameter CATV cables feed 222,432 and 903. AND topping it all off, is some 1/2" for 2m. SO - this is a pretty busy affair.

Another tower goes up this year, to hold the tribander, and a newly designed 6m antenna. 42' Boom, 7 elements.. should bark. Will have a shorter 6 el yagi on a side mount...
