Field Day is a fun day for the North Country ARC. Besides having fun, however, we are practicing installing and operating our radios under emergency conditions. It is a test of our ability. Our club competes with other groups from throughout the United States and Canada to see how many contacts we can make after setting up our equipment. We are not allowed to use commercial power. All electricity must come from emergency generators or batteries. This year we decided to use only Battery power. We can not setup our equipment or antennas until the day of the contest. The pictures above show the club members operating during the 24 hour period . The picture below is of our Field Day site for 2002.   Of course the public is always invited to our Field Day to observe and licensed Amateurs are invited to participate in our efforts to do our best. This past June our Club held Field Day at the White Mountains Airport in Whitefield, NH.
