ghzhamclub.about

What's the purpose of this place?

After discovering myself spending what seemed like more time searching the web for GHz resources than actually using the information, I thought I'd put together a resource that consolidates this information, making it easier for hams to spend their time working the bands instead.

What kind of stuff is here?

You'll see that the site is organized by activity area in an OSI network model fashion (although the list is in alphabetical order).

Why not have a real club?

That's actually something I've considered. Besides regionally-focused amateur associations (e.g. your local club), there are some great topic-specific ham groups out there, like TAPR for instance. If you'd be interested in joining a real club designated towards developing GHz amateur interests and practices, please email me at my callsign at arrl.net.

Anything else I can do?

You bet! Use the bands (you know the "use them or lose them" - that's an acceptable reason to get started, but I think you'll find that if you haven't already operated above 1.000 GHz, you'll discover it's an exciting place!). If you've got a GHz project you'd like to share, or have found other Internet-based GHz resources that you think should be mentioned here, please let me know.

Who is K1JRS?

I've got my own little section on the site, mostly used by me to keep track of my various projects (which unfortunately are numerous and growing!).
