Welcome to the Downeast Slow Speed Net Online |
The DSSN is designed to provide on-the-air CW practice (send & receive) to those amateurs needing assistance in building their Morse skills. The net operates between 5 and 10 WPM. The original idea was to provide these practice sessions to amateurs in the Downeast Maine area —hence the net’s name. However, you are invited to join the DSSN if you can hear it. Most net control stations are running less than 100 watts and using modest antennas (half wave dipole, G5RV, etc.). If you are not familiar with net operations, I encourage you to just listen one night to get the feel of the net. There may be someone out there that has all this information stored in their head, but it’s probably much easier to use the following Web pages for reference:
