The Goldberg Cub

My Goldberg Cub in 1986

Paul and his Cub

The Orange Goldberg Cub. This J-3 cub was powered by a Sato 65 4 stroke engine. The radio is a 7 channel, 53 mhz, Fataba.

I hand built this kit with tender care in 1986. This was my first model since the early 196's and I was still using old methods.

I covered it with silk, and hand painted it with butrate. I had to learn to fly proportional RC with it, and somehow I managed to keep from wrecking it untill I learned.

This was one of the first pictures taken shortly after it's completion.

Flying The Goldberg Cub

Paul and his Cub

A friend, at Buder Park, from the Aeropilots R/C Club, helping me get the Cub started before it's maiden flight.

I got plenty of help from the "RC Pilots Club" members at Buder Park.

I thought the plane turned out nice, but it was recovered in 199 with solartex, and it really looked good then.

The airplane is no longer in existence. It met with a ill fate one day when the elevator broke off in flight.

I will miss it, I truly loved this plane, so maybe, I will build another one some day. It was a lot of work.
