April 21 Sunday CHN Mountain Road Trip - Elk! Snow! Green Chile! 48 A-index! We had them all this mini-road trip into Rocky Mountain National Park.  CO Counties = Weld, Boulder, Larimer, Gilpin, ClearCreek, Jefferson.

We saw two herds of Elk South of Estes Park and had terrific Green Chile at the old 1868 stage stop in Rollinsville. You railroad buffs might know Rollinsville, Co as the starting point of the Moffatt Rail Tunnel under the Continental Divide.  We took the "OhMyGawd" hiway between Central City and Idaho Springs - so named because of the steep and often drop offs from this 1-lane dirt, washed out "shortcut".  The "navigator" was hanging on for life while looking down the 1,500 foot drop off on her side.
