The AMARC Multi-Band Remote Base Antenna Systems

The Present 2 Meter Remote Base Antenna

At the present time the multi-band remote base VHF antenna is a old single band, VHF business band, side mounted, 2 dipole array, at about the 60 foot level on the radio tower.

This antenna is tuned to 151.ØØ mhz, and was used with our old club 2 meter remote base repeater system.

This antenna presently limits the VHF/UHF portion of the remote base to 2 meters only.

The New 2 Meter Remote Base Antenna
Skeduled to be installed in 2ØØ9

The new VHF/UHF antenna for the FT-1ØØD remote base radio will be a Diamond model X-3ØØNA, with 6.5 DB gain on 2 meters, and 9.Ø DB gain on 44Ø.

It will be mounted at about the 6Ø foot level on the radio tower. It will be at that height to prevent overload to the 2 meter and UHF repeater systems.

The Present High Frequency Remote Base Antenna

At the present time the multi-band remote base high frequency antenna system is a single band, 1Ø meter side mounted dipole, at about the 6Ø foot level on the radio tower.

This antenna is tuned to 29.6Ø mhz, and was used with our old club remote base repeater system.

With only this antenna, the remote base is limited to full power on the FM partion of 1Ø meters, and due to higher SWR levels, only half power on the SSB portion of the 1Ø meter band.

This antenna will be replaced in the Spring of 2ØØ9 with our new multi-band antenna.

The New High Frequency Remote Base Antenna
Skeduled to be installed in 2ØØ9

The new high frequency antenna for the multi-band remote base is under construction.

It will be a half-wave dipole, side mounted at about the 9Ø foot level on the radio tower. It will be at that height to prevent overload to the 6 meter AM repeater receiver.

This antenna will have seperate, resonate, antenna elements tuned to 5Ø.525, 5Ø.2ØØ, 29.6ØØ, 28.375, 24.96Ø, and 18.14Ø mhz.

This antenna is being constructed with 1/2 inch copper tubing, and is designed for rugged duty service.
