This VHF repeater needed seperate remote control switching of the PTT, CTCSS encode, and decode circuits.
The original control ICS Linker Basic board didn't have this cabability, so a MCC RC-1ии was purchased for the job.
The only modification needed to the RC-1ии was to install a switching transistor to disable PTT to the VHF repeater.
This transistor is controlled by the CTCSS switching circuits.
Control functions for the CTCSS incode and decode was simple. The Vertex repeaters are cabable of 8 RF channels, so by simply programming the first 4 channels of each repeater to be switched by the controller solved other complex ways to do the job.
The channels were all programmed with the same repeater frequencies and then as follows:
Channel 1. CTCSS RX-on TX-on
Channel 2. CTCSS RX-on TX-off
Channel 3. CTCSS RX-off TX-on
Channel 4. CTCSS RX-off TX-off
They all needed one more turn. I wound new coils, and pruned them for maximun output. I increased the output by 1и watts.
The old coils were soldered to the RF amplifier chassis side for replacement if ever needed.
