Margaret's Corner

Another year of activities is winding down and we sing the old refrain "where has the year gone?". It's been a busy one with everyone having places to be and things to do whether it be family or radio related. I think this is why it went so fast.
Around the middle of July Leon, Stan and Joe went to the site at Killdeer. Leon climbed the tower and put up the new antenna. Stan tuned the duplexers and brought home some work to do on a problem part. In August Joe, Stan, Emil and Bill Kohler went to the 82 site to check out the possible source of some interference.
The annual picnic was a good one. We had a large number of campers. The weather was just right - perhaps a little cool in the evenings  but tolerable. Ole and Lynda, campground hosts from the Peace Gardens, joined us this year. The ladies had a good time with their needlework project, thanks to Mavis N0WRD, while others took on the frustrating task of trying to solve the Scramble Squares puzzle (it never did get solved). The food was excellent and plentiful as usual and there were many "good stuff" auction items. We also had a nice raffle table. Thank you to all who donated items and also to those who bought tickets. Congratulations to Joe N0QAU, winner of the card draw.
Our condolences go to Leon and Cindy on the loss of Leon"s dad.
