Leaves turning colors, grass getting brown, days getting shorter - where has the summer gone? I guess we can't really complain though. We have been inundated with stories of New Orleans and hurricane Katrina but we can count our blessings. Life for us goes on as usual such as camping, vacationing, various functions and  school in spite of little annoyances like high gas prices and now promises of higher heating costs.
Some of the TRARC members namely Bill and Irene, Stan and Betty, Kim and Joe,and Leon and Cindy attended the ARRL convention in Fargo the weekend of Sept. 10th. Reports are that the forums and seminars were informative particularly the ARRL forum which addressed numerous issues facing Amateur Radio in the United States. Stan and Joe conducted a seminar on the SuperLink system which was attended by 12 Hams who represented various nodes. There were several flea market tables. Rumor has it that Leon found Burghardts there too. Since there was nothing for the ladies they spent many hours at West Acres at their favorite pasttime - shopping. Bill was the only one that won a prize - a $25 gift certificate to West Acres. Guess who got that one?
We lost another long time member of our club just short of his 90th birthday. Larry Sanders WØIRY passed away on August 27th. Our sympathy goes to Emma and the family.
It's nice to hear Mark, Al, Clarence and Charlie on the air once in a while again.
So much for now! Enjoy our days as they come and may they only get better!
