News Letter -- June 2003

Greeting from the President,

Hope everyone has had a chance to enjoy the nice weather we have been having. The rain has also been nice to see. Makes everything so green and makes you want to be outside doing things. Outside doing things we have and will be! As most of you know from the meeting, we have been taking care of some repeater maintenance. The club also acquired a new monkey! Yours truly! Boy have we been having fun.

The end of April I gave a presentation to the Kiwanis's Club. They were very interesting in HAM radio and asked very good questions. I used a media presentation that Joe had gotten at the Bismarck Ham Fest and that went very good. The presentation sums up HAM radio very well and covers all the bases. If anyone would like to look at this presentation let me know.

The club has some big events coming up that we are looking forward to in June, July and August. On June 28th and 29th field day will be held out at the Dickinson Trap Club. Those that can make it be sure to stop by. If you have someone that is interested in amateur radio bring him or her along also. I missed it last year, but am planning on taking in some of the activity this year. We have a good time and like always, we never go hungry.

The next big activity that is on the calendar for our club is the 4th of July parade. This is being held on Saturday, July 5th. If anyone would like to head up this activity let me know. Those that will be here that day and can help your help is needed. Again, with any activity that the club does it seems like we always have fun. Come join us and find out if you have never been able to help!

August brings the Picnic which will be held the 8th, 9th and 10th. We have a great time so come on to Dickinson and enjoy the picnic with us. It is always fun to see old and new faces. It also gives us a chance to meet that voice that you have held a QSO with. It is fun to have an eyeball once in awhile and most of you HAMS know what I am talking about.

Enough for know.
