PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Congratulations to all of you who have either just become ham radio operators or who have recently upgraded! For those new hams, I hope you find fun and joy in your new hobby! For those who recently upgraded, good job! My wish is that each of you may continue to grow in knowledge, skill, and desire to serve the greater community! I encourage each of you to consider upgrading to further your new privileges! A way to continue your growth in a less formal way is to meet the group at Happy Joes on Fridays @ 5:30 pm; Arbys, weekdays @ 10:00 am; Dairy Barn, Sundays @ 3:30; McDonald’s after monthly meeting.

A special thank you once again to our instructors and examiners!

Thank you to David Williams KCØZFK for providing us with some interesting education regarding pandemic preparedness issues and its relevance to us as hams.

Melissa Sheppard (awaiting her call sign) has been appointed to Public Information Officer. Thanks Melissa for your positive energy and acceptance of this position.

A word of gratitude to those who filled out the feedback slips regarding input sessions and suggested topics to be held after our formal monthly meetings. Some very goodideas and suggestions were brought forth. Following the May meeting, the topic will be, “Good Operating Practices and Procedures,” presented by Jim Fahy NØSJ. Respecting those who feel the night gets “too long already,” I will do my best to keep each meeting moving with a goal of an hour’s length. Feel free to graciously excuse your self after the adjournment if you so desire.
Three inquiring guests attended the last meeting. It’s great to be “checked out” by prospective hams. Continue to extend an invitation to your friendsand colleagues to do the same.

The club sends its deepest condolences to Joe Michels, and his family as they grieve the loss of their father; to Florence and Willie Kuntz with the loss of her father; and to Dan Walz, KØDLW and his family as they grieve the loss of their daughter.
Margaret is doing well after surgery and is grateful for your prayerful support. See you next month at the armory for Skywarn Training!

Good Hamming!
Bernie Krebs KCØRRJ

MARGARET' CORNER

Classes are over for another year. All but the testing. Because the no code General doesn't go into effect till after February 23rd it was decided that testing would be held on March 3rd. We have a newcomer to the group, David Williams, who passed his tech test and 5wpm code at the end of December. His call is KCØZFK. On Feb. 17th a test session was held and David successfully upgraded to General. At that session we also had two young people, Kady and Tyler Hansey, grandchildren of Rod KCØRRR and Rhonda KCØROR, receive their Technician license. There are several that will be testing on February 25th for their new General upgrades.
After several weeks of "balmy" weather we had a reality check - sub zero weather. We even experienced a bit of snow. I missed a good photo opportunity when we went to Glendive on February 15th. As we broke over the hill going into the badlands the view was breathtaking. The badlands were snow covered and the sun was shining just right to make it the most beautiful sight. It is hard to describe and all I can say is that this is the prettiest I have seen the badlands in a long time. And I will say again - we are so lucky to live in North Dakota. And just think, spring isn't too far away.
Congratulations to all our new hams and upgrades. Enjoy your new privileges on the air!
73, Margaret KB7ITR
