Some of the military radios at K0AJL:

The radios on the desk are: (top to bottom):

RT-1439: part of PRC-119, SINCGARS. 30-80MHz FM 12VDC. Selectable power out: 120mW, nmW, 4W. This one is in the manpack configuration with whip antenna, H-250/U handset and battery box, which isn’t visible. I’ve never made a 6m FM simplex contact. Not sure why I bought this radio other than it is most certainly cool, I hope to get some contacts with it. I sold this radio in 2018.

AN/URC-110: The radio is a portable dual band- 116-150MHz and 225-400MHz AM/FM. On this one, the guts of the power supply have been replaced with 2 SLA batteries (12VDC 3.1A) wired in series. I have a power supply in case I decide to power it that way, all I would need is the cord. I use it to listen for FM simplex contacts during contests. It feeds a dual band whip mounted on the roof. Its low power on VHF makes contacts hard to come by. It also lacks subaudible tones for 2m repeaters, but t/r offset is easily programmed into it.

ITT Mackay MSR-8000 125W SSB/AME/CW/A3A HF transceiver. I bought this to be my main HF rig. I had been looking for a marine type HF radio with about 100W. This one works OK on the lower bands but is weak on higher bands…I plan to try to fix it, but in the meantime I will continue to use it. I sold this radio when I moved to Lakeville.
