RF Chain Construction

After a section was completed, I added a small "lip" of PCB material all the way around the inside edge of the section, about 1/8" down from the edge. The "lid" sits on this lip and is screwed down with 2-56 screws. These screws are not self-tapping, even though I pretended that they were. I located where I wanted the screws to go through, drilled a hole, then brute forced the screw into place. This usually worked pretty well. A few times, either the screw or the hole stripped out. Either I would throw away the screw, or solder over the hole and redrill. This usually took care of the problem. Sometimes I'd cover the hole with solder wick and redrill. In any case, what resulted was a nice, tight RF enclosure for each SA board.
