News:

1. Visit the Springfield NWS Office webpage for forecasts, severe weather watches/warnings, climate summary data, and much more.
2. Are you interested in emergency preparedness training to supplement your communications skills? Visit SEMA (State Emergency Management Agency) and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to learn more about training programs, and assistance programs, and much more.
2. Learn more about the proposed Missouri Emergency Packet Network (MEPN).
3. Interested in slow-scan? Join local operators Sunday afternoons on 147.210+ for the weekly SSTV net. Net control will assist you in software and/or hardware setup. All operators are welcome.
4. The MS-150 will not be coming through Jasper County this year. If you would like to assist, however, visit the Ozark Chapter website to learn more.

Other Information

1. Tune into the Monday night net, sponsored by the Joplin ARC, on 147.210+ for ARES and other announcements.
2. Jasco ARES is meeting with the Joplin Amateur Radio Club (2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 7:30pm at the Joplin Red Cross, located at 4th and Jackson). Please park in the alley, immediately west of Jackson. If there is enough interest, ARES will begin separate meetings and training programs.
3. Section D ARES Net on the last Sunday of the month at 6pm on 3993.5 KHz (3989KHz backup).
4. We're always seeking new volunteers. We welcome operators with experience in HF, CW, digital (APRS/packet/psk31), slow scan television, and VHF/UHF voice.
