DIRECT CABLE CONNECTION:
HOW TO CONNECT TWO PC WITH A SIMPLE CABLE
I think It's a very useful tool to connect two Personal Computer together (for
example two desktop or a desktop with a notebook) spending very few money; in
that way you can move and copy files, data, software without any LAN or
removable Hard-Disk;
Do you remember when you've tried to install win9x on your old notebook (or 486)
where unfortunatly there wasn't a CD-Room drive? and that time you made a full
back up of your 1 Gbyte Hard-Disk using floppies?
With a direct cable connection you can easy-made that; it's not fast as a
LAN, but you don't need to open your PC and install new hardware!
In the following pages I'll describe how to do that, what cable to use and
what software (and, of course, how to configure it);
About the Hardware (cable) we'll see:
NULL MODEM SERIAL CABLE (COM Port);
PARALLEL CABLE (LPT Port);
USB Cable;
About the SOFTWARE:
two PC running both DOS;
two PC the first running DOS the second Windows 9x;
two PC running both Windows 9x;
two PC the first running LINUX the second Wndows 9x;
