My name is Paolo, I was born in Pisa in 1967; now I’m living few kilometers from the city of Pisa in Pèttori (jn53fq), 100 meters from the pisan border. I work like a chemist in chemist’s in a territorial pharmacy.

I like sports such as tennis, american football, F1 car racing and my favourite hobby is ham radio, computering, paper money collection and when I was young I loved aeromodelism a lot.

For more than ten years I was a speaker in a local private Radio Station working on FM: it was a great experience !!!

I worked on 11 mt band (CB 27Mhz) for long time, then I got my OM first class licence in 1995. After that I preferred the large possibility of HAM frequencies.

My shack is very simple:

mostly, I work on HF using Kenwood 870 and Yaesu FT897D  for digimodes with handmade LEP interface, my power is 100Watt maximum; my antennas are Deltaloop dipole for 40/15m, a long wire dipole (T200A 4:1) one for 40 m, one for 20m both up 1m from the roof of my garage and Baby Loop Antenna.  

I’ve also one ECO HF8 vertical multiband antenna 4 meters up in the garden, that you can see with my setup under the snow on November 2005 on the left. 

For my light VHF activity you see a Comet GP1 over the top in upper left pic.

During my portable or vacation activity I use Icom 706I, handmade tuner and my dipoles or, as in last months for DCI activity, the multiband vertical antenna from ECO up over my car.  In the past I worked a lot from Italian Islands as IS0, IG9, IM0 using diploes antenna, very simple to get up and qiute invisible to courious eyes.

I've some nice vintage/surplus radio, and  some are functional other are not.

But unfortunately the time to dedicate to my hobby is very poor.

Sometimes I travel in local PCL node ik5pwj-6 or ik5zuk-6 looking for dxinfo.
