BRAC Island
CROATIA
IOTA EU-016

My first holiday-operation in Brac Isl. was from 11th to 16th August 1997.
I worked about a 1000QSOs from 10 to 40 meters CW & SSB.
My work condition was a Kenwood TS850s/at and inverted-V dipoles home made. The dipoles were put up on an aluminium mast 6mt. high.
Me and my wife Donata, came to Brac Isl. without an exact destination, after a travel through the island we have come in Milna, where found by chance a house near a 4 meters high cement mast.

My QSL card

The second time was from 17th to 26th August 1999.The rig was changed, Icom 706MK II and the antenna R7000 by Cushcraft. Although a test of antenna on iron fence at my QTH was perfect, when i put up antenna at same position used in the 1997 in Milna, it didn't work well.
A telephone wire and copper gutter near the antenna made telephone interference and bad resonance on every bands, so i was forced to work during the night time . I could do just 751 QSOs CW & SSB from 10 to 40 meters and WARC.

Town of Milna

These holiday expeditions are dedicated to Ivan BULJAN(1945-1997), he wasn't an amateur-radio but was a sincere friend and an example of unselfishness.
In the picture after: Me and Ghita, the agreeable & loving wife of Ivan.
