A Message from our Radio Officer
Hello Friend,
Public service communication has been a traditional voluntary responsibility of the Amateur Radio Service since 1913. Many of our ICARES members are trained, and we cooperate with the National Weather Service by participating in Skywarn. Check the N8ZMT repeater whenever severe weather threatens our area. ICARES is not a club. There are no dues. There are no club memberships.
Amateur Radio is more than fun. It provides us with an opportunity to serve and support our community. So, if you are a licensed amateur and live in, or near Ionia County, please consider becoming active in ICARES. If you have questions, you can send me an e-mail message.
73, John Schafer, N8ZMT
