A long story of a wonderfull hobby.

This page shows the rig's setup during the winter 2007-2008.
from 2009 to 2023 all the same except for the IC-756


The main rig is an FT1000mkV_Field surrounded by a variety of auxiliary items.
As backup stays at hand an ancient but SUPER FT1000 which is still unbeaten by most modern rigs.
The antenna tuner is used just as switching unit paired with a remote ameritron roof switch for complex switchery uses.
The cw keys are always present as morse code is my preferred mode.

The IC756pro3 was loaned for a couple of months comparison tests by the friend Antonio IC8EAA(sk2010).
My personal preference, after some winter months side by side tests of both rigs is still for the FT1000 series.
Specially after the addition of the panorama adapter "La Braciola" to my Field rig.




During 2010 an exceptional project has filled my radiotime: upgrading the 2nd IF mixer of my radio FT1000mkV_Field
with a state of the art circuitry developed by Gian I7SWX,   read the report here

Since 2007 electronic receivers (SDR:software defined receiver) have taken a big place in the ham world and communication equipments in general
and also in my shack. For almost ten years I have used an RF_Space SDR_IQ, but as the Digital technologies have evolved
in the early 2021 I have purchased a ColibriNano from EESDR, which has given a further improvement in the receive field especially
in the very LOW signals received at my shack on the 160 and 80 meters bands where I was able to work some super DXs from my small lot.

Outside : antennas on the roof and garden.

The antennas are growing like the grass in the garden and the fruits (DXs) are very sweet.
