The holiday season has arrived again and the trip has begun!

The QTH at Kardamena

On July 19th, at 04.15 a.m., I was ready to go, and with my wife and my son took the lift, to go dowstair. After one and a half floor, the lift stopped with a strong metal noise, like if the brakes hung.
Hey, has the adventure finished already?? right before to start??.
Luckily I was aware of opening the lift doors in emergency from the inside, and the lift stopped at about 70 cm. (2.5 feet) from the next floor, so it was easy enough to get off at once......
Baggages were on then car since the evening so there was nothing more than ourselves to pull out!!
Well, the first QRM was over, and we got to the spot!
That was the only ... trouble I had during my holidays, apart the most winding day (40/45 km/h, 25/30 ml/h) when I put the vertical R7 antenna up (it is called vertical, when you do a well done job). I had the help of the family and of a guest, called on duty by necessity!!
J45W: the Vertical
J45W: the skyline NW-N-NE Then the rest of the so called problems has been the propagation and, I'm still convinced about that, the place which is a bit too close to the hill just toward North West-North-North East, so toward USA, Europe, Japan! What's more?.
The north side of the island would have been a better choice, but since it was a holiday and I wanted relax also.... we had enough wind on this side, even beneath the hill, go figure the opposite! Good holiday choice, no doubts!
The sun was 100% sure, the air hot enough and the water quite OK. The hotel was fine, with 2 floors bungalows. I safely sent a fax in advance to the hotel manager/owner announcing the antenna and asking for a "near the roof" room.
I had it! but the roof was out of discussion, both for the wind and mainly becouse there is no stairs to get on!! But the antennas were quite OK notwithstandings.
Well, the dipole indeed was set up .."as you can", in a NLSAT ( tm ) (Non-Linear Space Adaptative Tree-supported) configuration!!! but it wanted to work and made is job as well!
