I2SVA
Licensed in 1972 I am living in Brunate, small village close to Como. from my QTH I have a wonderful view of Como and of the lake of Como from the top (being 1.500 feet higher). The landscape is clean and open from South-East to North-West, thru South. I am surrounded from higher mountains East and North bound. Operations are therefore very nice and easy to Africa and Amerca's, while Far East and Pacific short path sounds always very weak.
I am currently active on HF bands plus 6 meters. In HF I am operating with a Kenwood TS-940s, a Henry Radio 2k-4, dipoles for 160, 80, rotating dipole for 40 and 3 elements Hy-Gain yagi for 10/15/20. On 50 MHz I am using a Icom IC-575H feeding a 5 element F9FT modified.
RTTY and logging are performed via PC and standard Ham software; I am using Logger for general purpose (almost 70k QSO recorded), Writelog for contest, MMTTY for RTTY.
By sure the best piece of HAM software I am using is the BV7 QSL application by DF3CB; real a fantastic time saving tool to write QSL and answer to QSL received. Good Job!

This is my current QSL The picture on the left side is take from Como, an you can see the lake and few boats; the village on the top of the hill is Brunate, and my QTH is just on the sky line, one third from the left. The picture on the right shows my 3 element Hy-Gain on a 45 feet tower and the rotating 40 meter dipole on the top. On the background is the picture of my house during winter time, with almost 2 feet of snow on the ground. Nice location in the summer time! |
