Mi chiamo Roberto (Roby), sono nato a GENOVA nel 1954.

La mia avventura radiantistica, è iniziata nel 1968 con l'iscrizioneall'A.R.I, Associazione Radioamatori Italiani, il mio nominativo di SWL da allora è I1 14523.

    Nel 1970 ho superato il primo esame che consisteva in una prova di teoria e una di trasmissione di CW.

    Nel 1972 è stata introdotta la possibilità di ottenere la licenza limitata alle VHF e superiori, quindi ho presentato la domanda per la patente, avvalendomi dell'esame già sostenuto nel 1970.

    Nel 1973 finalmente è arrivata la patente!

    Ho invece dovuto attendere fino al 1974 per ricevere la "licenza speciale" (ora trasformata in autorizzazione di classe B) con il nominativo IW1PBV.

    Nel 1977 ho superato l'esame di ricezione del CW

    Nel 1978 ho ottenuto la patente ordinaria e finalmente nel 1979 l'agognata "licenza ordinaria" (ora trasformata in autorizzazione di classe A) con il nominativo I1URY.

    Per tanti anni ho vissuto in città in una casetta circondata da alti palazzi, pertanto le possibilità radiantistiche erano molto ridotte, tanto che mi limitavo in pratica a fare l'SWL.

    Da poco però, mi sono trasferito in una casa indipendente sull'appennino Ligure (JN44HN)  dove, XYL e QRL permettendo, potrò finalmente dedicarmi al mio hobby preferito. 

My name is Roberto (Roby), I was born in GENOA (ITALY) in 1954.

    My radio amateurs' adventure started in 1968 when I subscribed at A.R.I (Association of Italian Radio Amateurs), my SWL call was I1 14523.

    In 1970 I passed the first examination. It consisted in a written test and a CW trasmission test.

    In 1972 the possibility to obtain a limited authorization (limited to VHF and higher) was introduced. I asked to have the license according to the examination passed in 1970.

    Finally, in 1973, the licence arrived.

    I had to wait till  1974 to have the special license (that now is called: authorization class B). My call was then IW1PBV.

    In 1977 I passed the CW reception examination.

    In 1978 I obtained the ordinary license. In 1978 the so longed for "ordinary authorization" (This authorization is now trasformed in authorization class A). My call is by then I1URY.

    I lived for so many years in the city surrounded by high buildings. My radio amateurs' activity was so very limited; the only thing I could do was SWL.

    I now live in a house on a hill of Liguria (north west of Italy) (JN44HN) where if XYL and QRL allow me to I'm finally able to devote myself to my favorite hobby.
