My QTH from Space

Have you ever seen how it looks like the place where you live seen up from the space? I have found mine, whith a rather coarse resolution, but as a free download image. This one is coming from the Landsat 7 ETM optical sensor and shows the area of Roma and surroundings in a clear day. The place where I live is (approximately) indicated by the arrow. The circular big dark spot on the upper part is the lake of Bracciano, while the two smaller on the right end are the Castel Gandolfo and Nemi lakes. The dark wide area is then the Mediterranean sea in front of Roma. The different tones of dark may be attributed to the water coming by the river Tiber.

The very similar image is on my QSL card

You may find the image of your QTH looking at the European Space Agency catalogue

I am actually living downtown Roma. If you know the city, I am very close to the ancient Via Appia, on the border of the "Appia Antica" park.

The address, if you need the qsl card, may be found on any callbook since years. For those who do not have proper web links to check (!), the correct address to send a card to me is the following:

Stefano Badessi

Via Cesare Baronio, 187

I-00179 Roma

Italy

Should you need my QSL for your collection, please add at least a SAE in your envelope, and consider that a Priority mail stamp costs around 0.75 €. If you have problems in contributing to the costs, no problem: just tell me. Otherwise an IRC or equivalent would be enough in most cases.
