I had my first ham experience when I was 6 years old (1960):
I built a cristal receiver, after my father, professor of physics, gave
me the diagram. The receiver case was a wooden Sorrento box...
I got the amateur license in 1981. Since then I have
been working on several home made projects, including receivers, antennas,
meteo satellite image display...
My greatest emotion was hearing my echo on AMSAT OSCAR
13, mode B, with an home made uplink helicoidal antenna, 25 watts input,
and two 5 el. yagi for downlink.
I'm usually active on 7, 14, 18, 21 and 24 MHz, both
SSB and CW. My trasceiver is a Kenwood TS140S and the antenna is a set
of dipoles from 7 to 24 MHz.
During 2000 I'm active as II0 QFE (note: double I), a special callsign for the Jubilee 2000 Diploma (Award). It is an Award issued by ARI (Italian Radio Amateur Association). Amateur stations outside Italy can obtain the Diploma after connecting at least 30 special stations like me, having the II0 prefix in the callsign.
