January 7, 2012   HCARES Meeting Notes

HCARES MEETING NOTES 01/07/2012

  • The meeting was called to order by Steve Quear, WA9FTT, at the EMA office at 10:00 AM.

  • Sherrie Vermande, KD5YBP, presented the Treasurer’s report. The budget was presented. The Club approved the budget as stated.

    Postage $ 10.00 Indiana Repeater Council $ 8.00 Indiana Secretary State $ 10.00 QSL.net $ 50.00 Amateur Radio Newsline $50.00 Field Day $125.00 Miscellaneous $35.00 IRCC Dues $10.00 Club Prizes $ 25.00 TOTAL $ 323.00

  • The Club approved paying the $36.29 expense that Eric Eilers, K9ZX, spent on repairing the power supply.

  • On the 2nd Saturday morning in February there will be a packet workshop at the Cicero Fire station. This is highly recommended that you attend. This will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. It is open to all members.

  • We discussed putting a voice identification module on the county HCARES repeater.

  • We discussed getting more amateur’s to join the club. It was suggested that we announce this in the Marion county net. We could tell them that now our repeater is a wide area repeater. Joe Marsh, KJ9M, will do this. We have suggested that we have each person bring in 3 suggestions for programs for the next meeting so that we can arrange for the programs. Eric Eilers proposed to give a talk on a long wire antenna that he built over Thanksgiving for the next February meeting. Tim Vermande, KD5URS, will get some ideas on website design and a shorter URL.

  • The meeting was adjourned at 11:15 AM.
