PIERRE : Born in Geneva in 1948, I am living in a small town 3 miles east of Geneva, in the French speaking part of Switzerland. My job is informatic and radio telecommunication. I travel a lot, mostly in Africa but I also visited all other continents. I like playing tennis and cycling, swimming. My favorite hobby is Ham-Radio.

 

SWITZERLAND : A small country ( 41.293 square Km ) with 7 millions inhabitants. The capital city is Bern. We have four national languages : Swiss German (74%), French (21%), Italian (4%) and Romansh (1%). The country is divided in 26 cantons and half cantons with their own government. The highest mountain is "La Pointe Dufour" 4634 meters (15.200 ft.) above see level. The main cities are; Zurich, Geneva, Basel.

 

GENEVA : "Geneve" is the name used for of both "Republique et Canton de Genève" and the city: "Ville de Genève".  The city is located on the shore of the "Lac Leman" at the west end of Switzerland at 380 meters asl. The population is about 250.000 . The main activities are; banking, insurance, watches factories, jewelry. You will enjoy making a boat ride on the lake and visiting the old town while shopping.
