My name is Tobias, I grew up in Switzerland and moved to Germay a half year ago and got this new call sign since 17.2.2004. My main QTH is still in switzerland in the house of my parents because I can put up big antennas there. Not so in Germany. I life in a flat in JO31LE were installing fixed mounted antennas is forbidden. But some QRP on SW/VHF/SHF is still possible.

My main activity in switzerland is 2m/70cm/23cm and 13cm SSB contesting. I plan to go up in frequency, especially 3cm is one of my next goals in the future. With my swiss licence (HB3YEV) I worked many stations over OSCAR-40. Sadly this satellite is currently dead because of battery shortage. My activities on shortwave are BPSK31 and SSB all QRP only with the FT-817. BPSK31 is a relatively new digital mode of operation. It does not require a big S/N ratio and is extremely narrow (only 31Hz theoretic bandwith) There are several programs that are available for this mode. Visit also http://psk31.com
