January Business Meeting

Thursday, January 8, 2009.

There were nominations for three of the five club officers. The nominating committee is working on it. Nominations and elections were postponed until the March business meeting.

BARC has asked us to run the gate for their hamfest again. We have agreed to do it. The arrangement is the same as last year. Our BARC Gate page will be updated soon. Meanwhile, mark your calendar for March 28 and 29.

The Officers are concerned about the small number of members that participate in club activities. Two questions came up. The first question was if the present meeting date and time is good or bad? The second was what activities that we do are those that you have no interest in? Or what you like to see that we are not doing? These will be posted on the the club's e-mail reflector. We really need you comments. However, if you do not get messages via the reflector, please e-mail your ideas to any club officer.

There are very tentative plans for a club picnic on Saturday, April 25th, at the Pleasant Hill Fire Company. We will probably set up a station and play Ham Radio while the hamburgers are cooking. When the plans are finalized we will add to the club calendar and add a page on the club web site.

BARC has invited us to two of their upcoming events. First is the BARC Minifest. It will be held on Wednesday, January 21st at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Maryland. It is free! Second, they will be showing the movie "Frequency" at their club meeting on Wednesday, February 18th. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Don't forget our next club meeting. This should be a lot of fun.
