What Happened

at the November Meeting

Thursday.   November 11,   2004.

We had a good turnout.

The first order of business was to nominate officers for the 2005 year.
President:  Al Shafer,   KB3ETX
Vice President:   Bill Dobson,   N3WD
Secretary:   Ralph Dubs,   N3XWN
Treasurer:   Joe Klingon,   N3MKE
Member at Large:   Mike Garber,   N3KTX
Nominations are closed and the election will be at the December meeting.

Other business conducted included approving a $500 donation to N3KZS for repairs to the repeater.  This was to repair damage to the main controller from lightning damage.

BARC has again asked us to run one of the gates at their 2005 hamfest.   Arrangements are similar to those of previous years.   Mark your calendar now for the weekend of Saturday,   April 2,   and Sunday,  April 3.   This is our main money-maker for the year.   We need your help.

Bill,   N3WD,   announced that the next meeting of the Baltimore Amateur Radio Club (BARC) would be November 17th.  Their guest speaker for the evening is a recognized expert on the Internet Radio Linking Project (IRLP) and EchoLink.   Our members are cordially invited to attend.

Operation in the 10 Meter Contest was discussed.   The plans are coming together nicely.   Ralph,   N3XWN,  will provide the computer.  The feeling was there would not be enough PSK31 stations in the contest to justify setting up for this mode.   So we dropped it from the plans.   Same for FM.   If anyone wants to bring in the equipment this option is still open.  Otherwise there are no plans to operate FM.  The dates are December 11th and12th.   I will add a page to the club website with the details.

We ate all of the chocolate-chip cookies before leaving.
