What Happened

at the June Meeting

Thursday. June 10, 2004.

Like last month, attendance was very low.

The 6 meter repeater is experiencing severe TVI problems. The owner of the TV is not very cooperative and solutions at the transmitter end are nearly exhausted. This repeater may have to be shut down.

Ralph, N3KZS, reported on a portable remote receiver site that he is working on. The main electronics are finished. Still to be completed are the 2 M/70 CM antenna and diplexer, and a 70 CM duplexer.

The Frederick transmit site is now on the air as part of the 146.895 MHz repeater. This now gives the user a choice of three transmit sites.

The plans for Field Day are nearly complete. That's good since the contest is only two weeks away. We will use the same site as last year and nearly the same set up. The main difference is that we will probably only run one HF station. The club will provide food for Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. Everybody bring their own beverages (no, not the antenna.) The details are here on our web site.

Bingo was discussed and some alarming concerns became evident. This is a very large effort for a small club. Meaning that the manpower requirements are massive. Please plan to help as much as possible. More details here on our web site.

Having attended to the business, we turned our attention to the refreshments. In addition to standard cookies and other crunchies, the chocolate brownies were delicious. Thanks Sharon.
