Crop Walk 2007

The local Council of Churches holds a "Crop Walk" each year to raise money to support their projects. They asked us to provide communications. The route covered the Eastern half of Hanover. The N3KZS repeater has excellent coverage in this area. HT's were useable anywhere along the route. Joe, N3MKE, ran the "Crop Walk Net" while patrolling the route. Charlie, W3CQB, remained at South Western High School for liaison with the Crop Walk Committee. Andy, AF3I, and Al, W3TRW, were located at the rest stops.

This worked very well. The Crop Walk Committee had communication with all of the rest stops and real time location of the first and last walkers. That is what they asked us to provide. At the end of the day they were very pleased with our work.
