The Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company has been our very gracious host. We use their facilities for our meetings, APRS site, Field Day and other events. In return, we run the bingo game at their annual carnival.
The work is easy, but it takes a lot a people to do it. Five workers is the absolute minimum needed to even start the game. Eight or nine workers are preferred.
We arrive about 6:30 p.m. and start the game at 7:00 p.m. We shut down when the number of players drops to an unprofitable level. That is unusually 10:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The rest of the week we will run until 11:00 p.m. or midnight. The crowds are larger and stay later as the week progresses. The largest number of players is between about 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. That is when we need the most help.
The Fire Company keeps up supplied with sodas and coffee. If we behave ourselves, they may throw in a sandwich and fries.
All of this is not hard and actually is kind of fun. We do need lots of manpower. Please keep this week open to help out.
